Free VRChat Halloween Assets 2026: 15 New Items You Can Still Get
Written by VRC Free Watch · Last updated
Fifteen free Halloween assets released since mid-September 2026, sorted into outfits, accessories, gimmicks and textures, with avatar fit, PC and Quest limits, and deadlines.
Halloween itself has passed, but most of this year's themed releases are still free, so there is plenty here for autumn edits, event photos or next year's costume. This roundup covers new work only: everything below went on sale on BOOTH after mid-September 2026, and we picked 15 items by BOOTH likes and a balance of categories.
We checked the data on November 5, 2026, Japan time, and all 15 items were ¥0 on BOOTH at that point. Prices can change and limited-time offers end, so treat the product page as final. The cards in this article show live status. The notes below are based on the product pages; we did not import and test each item ourselves.
Two items are free only until November 7, 23:59 JST, so if you are short on time, start with the accessories section. We left out items whose titles said "free until Halloween", because those windows have already closed.
Outfits: full looks for specific avatars
Outfits are the pickiest category. All three here target particular avatars, so check yours first.
- Itazura Ghost: an outfit for Kipfel that combines bandages with a ghost sheet. A good starting point if you use Kipfel and want a ready-made Halloween look. Our site could not read its terms automatically, so check them on the product page.
- Halloween Mini Set: a ghost cloth and a pumpkin hat for Shinano and Manuka, with Modular Avatar support and a separate toggle for each piece. On Shinano, turn off or remove the default sweater and skirt first, or they will clip.
- Costume Jiangshi: edit parts for Nekochiyan and Hamu rather than a complete outfit. A version without the paper talisman is included, so it also works as an everyday Chinese-style look. On Nekochiyan, the page recommends turning the ears off.
Accessories and pets: mostly avatar-agnostic
If your avatar has no dedicated outfit, this is the most useful group. Most of these go under the avatar or on a bone, then need a little positioning.
- Komonya: a small bat-winged cat that flies around your head. The page says it works on every avatar and installs through Modular Avatar. It has the most likes of anything in this list.
- Toriobake: three little ghosts that follow you, for most humanoid avatars. The creator warns that unusual bone structures can stretch them wildly, and they elongate as you move, which is part of the charm. Around 8,400 polygons in total.
- Halloween Hat: just the hat, at a very low 868 triangles. It is positioned for Kipfel, so other avatars need a manual adjustment.
- Jack O'Lantern Head: a pumpkin head in three expressions. There is no one-click setup; you fit the position and size to the Head bone yourself. A quick way to get a costume without touching the face.
- Marble Hairpins: three Taisho-romance-style glass marble hairpins. Free until November 7, 23:59 JST. PC only; Quest and Android are not supported.
- Nobinobi Button: Halloween-colored buttons you can grab and stretch. Modular Avatar and lilToon are required. Free until November 7, 23:59 JST, after which the page goes private and the item is planned for a paid set. It is currently a beta.
Gimmicks and world props
Two of these add effects to your avatar and one is for world builders. Watch the PC and Quest notes on all three.
- Burning Footprints: flames rise where you walk and stop when you stand still, in eight colors. PC only, and people on Quest or mobile will not see the effect, so do not count on it in a mixed instance.
- Candy Bucket: a pumpkin-faced bucket whose candy pops up and drops back when you press the menu button, which suits group photos. It ships with position presets for Shinano, Chocolat and Kipfel, which the creator describes as unofficial. PC only. The page states no end date for the free offer; if the card shows one, it came from automatic detection, so go by the product page.
- Ghost House: a one-person ghost-shaped house for world creators, with a working door and two seats. The creator says it was checked in the Unity Editor but not in the VRChat client, in VR or on Quest, so test it before you publish.
Textures: a seasonal look without a new outfit
Textures are small downloads, but nearly all are made per avatar and usually will not line up on anything else.
- Obake Ashi: an alpha mask for Lapwing that makes the legs ghostly and semi-transparent. You need to change material render settings, and the steps are on the product page. Redistribution is prohibited.
- Bat Face Paint: a bat design for Kipfel, Chocolat and Komano, with ten colors per avatar and PSD files. You can edit it, but you cannot redistribute it, even bundled inside an avatar.
- Halloween Twilight: gradient and spiderweb eye textures for seven avatars: Yugiri, Lime, Komane, Kokuro.RE, Makona, Kipfel and Mamehinata. Editing is allowed, redistribution and resale are not, and the creator notes it may be withdrawn without notice.
Before you download
- Deadlines run on Japan time. November 7, 23:59 JST is 14:59 UTC. Our limited-time free guide covers how creators write deadlines and how to keep your downloads.
- Free does not mean unrestricted. Commercial use and publishing edits depend on each item's terms. Our site could not read the terms on many of these automatically, and that does not mean there are none. See how to read terms of use.
- PC and Quest are different. Three items here explicitly say PC only. If you or your friends play on Quest, read the Quest compatibility guide first.
- Modular Avatar setup. Many items above depend on it. If it is new to you, start with the Modular Avatar outfits guide.
Finding more
This is only a selection. For the full set, search for ハロウィン, かぼちゃ or おばけ on the home page. Japanese keywords return the most results, and the avatar filter narrows the list to what works with your avatar.
This site is a discovery list, and all downloads happen on BOOTH. Please respect each creator's terms.
